Will my elastic bands for braces stop hurting?

Braces and Rubber Bands...HELP!!! ?

  • I've had braces for about 5 or 6 months now. My last dentist appointment was a month ago. The dentist gave me a bag of rubber bands that I'm supposed to wear 24hrs. aday(with the exception of brushing and eating). I wear them only on the right side of my mouth. Last week, I went on a trip, and lost my rubber bands:(:(...I had 2 go a WHOLE WEEK with out them! Now that I'm wearing them again, they hurt. Did something go wrong? Will the dentist notice? How long will it take 2 stop hurting?

    Just make sure you wear them all the time now. As long as you stay consistent from now on, then it shouldn't make a difference. It should only take about a day or two to stop hurting. :)

It's probably because your teeth are not use to the rubber bands since you didn't wear them for so Long The dentist probably won't

your mouth probably hurts because it has to re-adjust to them again. you were fine before because you handled the pain and after a while it got less and less. I doubt the dentist will notice. Some days I got lazy and didnt wear my rubber bands, it will probably take a few days.
