I want to become a dental hygienist, how many years of colleg do i need? Does it take a long time to get hired?

Answer:
Education - Most dental hygienist programs are 2 to 3 years long. It will depend on whether or not you have any college credits already, and also if the school has a waiting list. Getting a job - This really depends on the area where you live (Are there a lot of dental offices?), any work experience you have (internships are very powerful!), and your grades in school. I would recommend that you talk to your own dentist and ask if you can job shadow one of the hygienists for a couple of hours so you can really see his/her job, and also ask some questions.
