  • “A former dentist bonded my "canine" tooth (upper near front) without my consent. She said I needed a filling. I didn't know she really meant bonding. (There was a severe language barriar as she was Asian and I am not). I know that with this tooth that was bonded, it showed a tiny amount of receeding gumline, BUT I was in no pain whatsoever and never complained about it to her.     It can but you don't want it. To remove it would grind away too much of your tooth and perhaps leave you with a tooth that would have to be removed. Having said that a good dentist should be able to smooth things out for you so it won't hurt your lip.
