I Chipped My Molar, What Do I Do?

Chipped molar from orthodonist.?

  • Well when i was getting my top braces on almost 3 years ago, they were shoving the little metal band that goes around your molar onto my tooth, they ended up chipping it just a little tiny bit, no bigger than a crumb. Just today I was eating a piece of chocolate and noticed that it chipped even MORE. It's pretty deep too. I dont really feel too much pain right now but i can tell theres something wrong and can feel a very tiny amount of sharp pain every so often, on a scale of 1-10 its like a 0.5. Also they sanded down my front two teeth when I got them taken off and ever since then they've been extremely sensitive, imagine yourself having chewing aluminum foil while you have a cavity, its that type of pain and sensitivity. we plan on going in on monday to get them to fix my chipped tooth and pay for it! but other than that what steps should i take, and what if they say they didnt do it when clearly you can see it in the before and after x-rays that there is a chip. Any help would be great, expecially about the fact they made my two front teeth extremely sensitive.

  • Answer:

well i doubt there is anything you can do about it three years later unless it written in your dental chart. if its in the chart and they wont address the situation then take it to a lawyer. ask to see the chart or get copies.
