What is porcelain?

What is the correct term for All Porcelain Crowns? I don't like metal.?

  • I went to the dentist but the lady doing the paperwork didn't know if all porcelain crowns existed. She was looking the name of the porcelain crowns to see how much they cost. What is the correct term instead of "All Porcelain Crowns"?

  • Answer:

D2750 is a porcelain crown with noble metals and is probably what your dentist is recommending. A ceramic crown will cost you an extra 500 at least, and most insurance plans do not cover them. You could also for alittle less money get the regular crown, then get a marginal done to cover the metal ring around the bottom.
