ok, so the ib profen is correct, you definitely want an anti-inflammatory. I just wanted to REALLY emphasize the importance of taking your antibiotic correctly. If its 3 times a day for 10 days, TAKE EVERY SINGLE PILL till its gone. After 2-3 days of antibiotics swelling should reduce since you're are killing the bacteria that are causing that mess, but finish the regimen of the antibiotics. I have seen so many patients come back with an infection 10 times worse cause they only took half of their antibiotic pills. Icing it will help too, but really, you just need to kill the bacteria, and have the dentist drain that infection as soon as he can.
