I have to get root canal done but I don't have the money to get the porcelain crown..What else can be done?

I definitely don't want to get my tooth extracted..But I don't have the money to get the porcelain crown so what else can be done? Like is the porcelain crown the only thing I can get to protect my tooth? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY!
