Why are all of my teeth hurting me after my wisdom teeth extraction?

  • I took out my two bottom wisdom teeth on Thursday. I had a very good recovery, not much swelling or anything BUT my teeth are hurting soooo much. I kind of stopped my painkillers for a bit but now I'm back on it because my teeth even the top ones have been hurting me so much! I'm not sure why. Please help

    A lot of pressure is put on the jaw bone when extracting wisdom teeth making a slight movement in other teeth. They will tend to be sore too for a week or so. Keep taking regular painkillers to ease your pain. The jaw has been made to move in opposite directions as it is used to and is recovering from this.

Having an extraction is traumatizing to your mouth. The nerve for your bottom teeth all run along one groove in your jaw bone and until you are completely healed you will probably have residual pain. When they were removing your wisdom teeth especially the bottom ones they gave you shots in the back corner of your mouth, and made you open wider than you normally do. The mouth had to stay open for an extended period of time so they could complete the extractions. Also they used forceups (the name for the instrument used for the extraction) which as its name implies uses force and can cause residual pain. The pain should all go away once you are completely healed, usually a couple of weeks at the most. If it is unbearable consult with your dentist. I hope this helps.

I would imagine because, you got your wisdom teeth removed so the rest of your teeth are moving around in your mouth.

same thing happened to me....yer mouth is just sensitive....give it a few days, you'll get better
