Why do fillings cost so much?

Would you recommend white fillings and how much do they cost for under 18's on the NHS?

  • I was told I need two fillings and I currently don't have any and when I had braces two years ago I was lucky that all the the teeth my orthodontist had to remove included all my fillings so I really want to keep my teeth clear of fillings! But how much do they cost for under 18's on the NHS and would you even recommend them? It's just someone I know said they're around £100 (I'm hoping some of you have experience and it's not that much!) although if they're going to last me for the rest of my life then I wouldn't mind spending that much / would rather not have silver ones.

  • Answer:

Hi I have white and the normal silver. What most dentist don't tell you is the white ones can shrink and leak, which has happened do me. The silver ones are stronger but ob don't look as nice. I have had cerec ones as well they are very expensive but are supposed to last a long time and look like real teeth. Good luck. 2 white ones cost me £90 on the nhs but I am over 18.

hi, i'm 13years old and i have two white fillings i think? Anyway they were both free on the NHS and should last me forever! Although if your worried about it, if its not your front teeth just go for a silver one you cant see them!
