How to know if you have dry socket?

How do I know if I have dry socket?

  • I'm afraid the clot may have come out of the extraction site, but I heard that dry socket is extremely painful. It's a little tender, but I think that's normal. It is Thursday and had my tooth out on Monday. The pain is NOTHING compared to when my tooth was aching. I was just wondering, what pain levels would I be experiencing if I had dry socket? Also, the tooth in front of it hurts a little too, I'm thinking it may have been moved in the pulling? Will this stop? Thanks everyone in advance.

  • Answer:

A dry socket hurts really bad. When I had one, I had to go to the dentist every day to have it packed with pain medication for a few days until it got better.
