Answer:
Go for it! don't let any one stop u or tell you that u can't do it. U can! don't quit ur job tho (keep it while u go to school that way u still get some kind of income). Good luck! maybe u can follow a dentist around for a day..call ur dentist (or others) and ask.

Yes, we as dental hygienists make good money. But it is hard to find a full time job w. benefits. Jobs aren't as plentiful as they used to be. Also, you are sitting over a patient 8 hours/day cleaning their teeth. It is hard on your back so if you have back problems I wouldn't suggest it. If you do not mind the job description and what we as dental hygienists do, I'd say go for it! I love my job but I am verrrrrrrrrrry busy all day, but it does make the day fly by.

Dental Hygienists are always in demand now and will be in the future. You don't have to worry about being outsourced and you can almost make your own schedule. It's a great job. The only down side for you is that there is not too many males hygienists and you may not be received as well as a women. Call up the local dental society and ask them if they can give you a list of the hygienist in your area to see how many are male. Good luck.
I think maybe you should branch out as a developer. I was thinking more in terms of BI and that sort of stuff. I really am not familiar with what an SAP developer does. There are jobs here if you switch your specialty a bit. At the end of the day, it is all up to you. Do what makes you happy. The hygienist job might be in demand right now but will you be happy doing that 9-5 ? You might want to take business classes such as finance or project management so you can market yourself in a different way. A financial analyst that can query his own data is cool. Good luck!!!
