How can you get rid of gingivitis?

Can I still get rid of my gum disease: gingivitis?

  • I had gingivitis for a while now. But, I've been using mouthwash everyday and been brushing my teeth regularly as well. So, my gums doesn't bleed as much, but does occasionally, maybe once per week. I heard somewhere that bleeding actually help get rid of the bacteria, is that true? Also, I'm wearing braces and the gums kinda went over little parts of the braces. Plus, I never flossed because of my braces. However, I learn an efficient way of flossing with my braces on. I'm 18 years old by the way. I wonder that if I start flossing, will I have a chance of getting rid of the gingivitis completely? And I shall have pink gums again? :/ And so my orthodontist stop yelling at me.

  • Answer:

the gums will not become pink untill you get scaling done. tell your dentist to do scaling and then maintain oral hygiene with mouthwash and floss. untill the tartar beneath the gums is removed the gum swelling will not go away.
