Is it hard to become a dental assistant?

What can I become after being a Dental Assistant for several years?

  • I'm taking classes for becoming a dental assistant but I would like to go higher that just an assistant. I'd like to one day become a Dental Hygenist and later on a Dentist. My sister's mother in law was a Dental Assistant for 25 years and then became a Dental Assistant Teacher..actually she is my teacher now.. She told me after 5 years I could become a teacher. So i was just wondering if there were other possibilities that Dental Assistance has to offer. Thank you :)

  • Answer:

I am not sure what is required to become a dental assisting teacher. You can always go back to school to become a hygienist. Attending an accredited school and passing board exams are required for becoming a hygienist...as well as a dentist. Starting out as an assistant is a great way to see if you enjoy working in the dental profession. Good luck :)
