Do lingual braces work?

Braces? but they want to do unnecessary work?

• Hi :] This might be long but bare with me please. Soo I'm getting braces, which I want and don't mind. I have an impacted upper eye tooth.. Which leads to them wanting to pull the tooth that's behind the eye tooth, as well as the same tooth on the other side. Then they would be able to pull the impacted eye tooth down into position but then he said if it doesn't work they would surgically remove the impacted eye tooth. Then what would they do about the huge space they created? HOWEVER, I told them I did NOT want them to extract the two teeth because I have this feeling everything will go wrong and also I've fainted twice when they did dental work before. (It might have been a reaction to the Novocaine but I have no idea why it happened.) Because of that I'm scared I'll faint again. Knowing all this, the ortho. said the teeth gets pulled or the braces won't work. I've asked people and they said I don't have to get them pulled and my teeth would still be fine. But the dentist thinks otherwise. Is it really necessary to do all that work? Should I get them extracted knowing I'll most likely faint again?

  I'd say no. Orthodontists are like this - they want to do all this unnecessary work because they get money for it. If your own judgement tells you that you don't need this done, then DON'T listen to them. I've known several doctors like this. Basically, they don't do anything about the big spaces that tooth extraction leaves. Many of them are just sick, twisted people that will do anything to you for money...
