What should I major in to become a dentist?

What would be the best way to become a dentist ?

  • i have decided on my job ( Dentistry ) which i have wanted to do for ages and ages. The only problem is i don't know where or how i could become one , so i thought some things up . Would these be good options to make sure i can be a dentist ? Do work experience at my dentist for the week. To get an idea of being in the life of a dentist. Do my GCSE'S ( If i pass ) Go onto A levels ( If i get the desired A levels i need ) enroll in Dental school Then don't know what i could do. Do i go onto being a technician and work onto becoming a dentist or what? Thanks everyone :D

You should mention what country you want to pursue dentistry, the programs vary. In the U.S., most usually get a bachelors degree and then take the DAT your end of sophomore year. Hopefully you score high enough as you apply to dental schools in your junior year. Hopefully then you get admitted to some by your senior year (get interviews, as admittance is a two part process). After college, you go into dental school (4 years). You take a state license test, pass it and voila you are a dentist. There's different programs this is just one path, there are many. My friend is starting dental school this fall at University of California--San Francisco (not bad). Good Luck and study hard for those test.

To become a dentist, you have to obtain a university degree (most take either a business degree or bachelor of science). After that, you continue on to dental school.

good grades in school and liking patients who have bad teeth, dont do it for the money, this world is full of horrible dentists
