How do you go about getting braces from a dental school?

Should I go to school the day I get braces? Please answer!?

  • Tomorrow I'm getting braces at 8:30 in the morning and its gonna be about a 2 hour process. Tomorrow we have a big state test that we need to take so im for sure gonna miss that. My school starts at 7:40 and ends at 2:45 so by the time my braces are on and i go have lunch it's probably gonna be about 11:30 if i did go back to school. Do they hurt after you get them on? Like will I be okay to go back to school after i get them on? or should I just skip the whole day tomorrow because I would only be there for about 3 hours tomorrow anyway but Ive missed so much school so should I go to school tomorrow or not? thanks:)

    Your braces shouldn't hurt immediately but you might want to take some paracetamol. The pain is not too bad but it's just uncomfortable, definitely go back, you want to miss as little of your education as possible. For lunch you might want to consider soup or pasta as these are easy to eat without chewing. Good luck!

Get your braces, take a couple of tylenols and go to school. The pain won't start till about a few hours after getting the braces, and if you take the pain killers it'll be held off for another few hours. Buy a slurpee (slushie) and take it to school, just drink it during the school day. The coldness soothes the pain a lot and really helps. And one more thing, don't eat anything that requires chewing for a few days, chewing really hurts. Good luck, Cassandra ⊂((・x・))⊃

If you can handle the pain go for the test, once you finish it ask your teacher to let you leave, if you're experiencing pain that is ( Which I'm sure you will ).

When I got mine I went back to school and I didn't need any medican good luck on you test!(:

If the pain is bearable and it's ok to eat the school food with braces then go to school. It's better to keep up with a few classes then none at all. Next time let your teachers know you have a appointment beforehand so they can give you your work a day or so ahead of time.
