Will my elastic bands for braces stop hurting?

How can I stop my braces from hurting so much?

  • I just got my braces on this morning and they are SO. SORE. i have literally cried for hours and hours because of the pain. I have taken advil, but it didn't do anything at all! I had braces last year on the front four teeth, but i don't remember it hurting this much.

OMG I feel for you.i got them a month ago and was like wtf am I supposed to do? It hurts so much! I wanted to cry. Anyways, keeping cold water in your mouth helps. Just drink it and keep it in. Tylenol didn't work for me, but for some people it does. But it dos help you fall asleep, and when your sleeping is the on.y relief you have. Try to focus on other things, like watching movies. It really helps to distract you. Oh, and use ice packs aginst your cheeks!!! It helps your aching teeth. The best help is cold water and ice packs or ice. Stay away from hot things I guess! That's what makes them move I think... Honestly, I know how bad it hurts. I cried too. I know it seems like forever, but do this: watch movies to distract yourself, hold ice packs to your cheeks, and sleep. Thats the best chance for relief. You can do it! Just hold out for another 2 days or two and than will go down! Best of wishes.
