Is it hard to become a dentist?

What would I need to major in to become a Dentist (General)?

• Right now Im currently bouncing back and forth between two careers; a network security engineer and a Dentist (general). I had just decided that I was going to become a network security engineer so I have been researching that career and decided I was going to major in computer science. But I have always wanted to be a dentist until I realized that I would need to major in Biology. I absolutely HATE biology, and if there was anything else I could major in besides Biology I would become a dentist. So is there anything else that I could major in besides biology in order to become a dentist? Also, would health science be an okay major if I wanted to become a dentist? Thanks

  This is what NYU requires for their dental school: http://www.nyu.edu/dental/academicprograms/dds/requirements.html. I'm sure that other dental schools with have similar requirements (I looked at UMDNJ as well, and they also require biology, physics, and 2 types of chemistry). Being a dentist is nearly as intensive as becoming a medical doctor. You need to take biology because you need to understand how bodies work.
