• can someone please explain to me in detail the steps i need to take to become a medical assistant... including the classes, pay, if i need a high school diploma to enroll, where can i attend, can i further my study into becoming dentist.. if you work as one can you tell me the pros and cons.. thank you i would really appreciated it.

  For all medical or dental professions you need a high school diploma or at least a GED. So get your GED first if you don't have a high school diploma. You simply sign up for the exam at a local high school or community college and you can even take a GED prep class or just borrow a study book at your local library. Now a dental assistant and medical assistant are NOT the same majors or careers so you need to get that straight. Do you want to be a DENTAL or MEDICAL assistant? Medical assistants work in hospitals and doctors offices. Dental assistants work in DENTIST offices Both majors are a good choice and you only need a certificate to work as either. You attend a local training school or community college that offers medical or dental assisting. Call a school and go and speak to an advisor to find out the steps to get your GED and then get into the program of your choice. Dental assistant is not the same as dental hygienist, just so you know. A dental assistant is a very LOW level dental professional. A dental hygienist and dentist get COLLEGE degrees unlike a dental assistant. Most dentists don't become an assistant or hygienist first. They go to a 4 year college and major in biology or similar major and then take graduate exams and then apply to a dental college. You need to speak to a college advisor.
