Answer:
Bonding cost much less, a few hundred dollars. Veneers are really only used by movie and tv stars who are on camera all the time. Veneers are about 700 to 1,000 dollars PER tooth. So your total could be 4,000 dollars for 4 teeth! The dentist has to shave down your real tooth to then cement on the veneer. So it is a permanent procedure. The veneer can discolor and crack over time and then you would have to pay to have another veneer put on. From what I understand about veneers, you can never go back to NOT having veneers (your natural teeth only) once they are put on since the dentist had to shave your tooth a little to put it on. Veneers are little white tooth coverings that go on the front of teeth. Bonding is just like the material used for white fillings and the dentist will match the color to your other teeth. Bonding can break or fall off but then you just need more bonding put on again. Veneers are usually NOT covered by insurance. You have to pay with cash or a credit card. I would advise nothing or just bonding if your front teeth have chipped areas. The only purpose for Veneers in a non-celebrity would be if you have a genetic disorder that caused your teeth to look really bad. Talk to your dentist about the cost of both bonding and Veneers and discuss how long he/she thinks each would last (how many years they will last and what happens if they break or crack or fall off).

a lot. veneers are often used by celebs and can cost £10,000 for the whole mouth . dunno what that is in canadian currency. I think its about £500 per tooth, if the guy is good. again, check a currency converter. bonding i think is where teeth are lengthened or made larger (perhaps to fill in a crack). veneer cover's the whole tooth and gives you a brand new, flawless looking tooth, although they DO drill away at the real tooth for it to fit on....bear this in mind. Also, will the veneer match your other teeth? You don't want it to look strange. Check out Hillary Duffs first veneers, she looked like a f**ing horse. That was a bad dentist though. You can always pay in cash. Often it's better to just get a brace, like kids do, and then get teeth whitening, if you want the 'celeb smile'. That will take at least a year but it's cheaper and unlike veneer's your lovely teeth will actually be real. Also there is 'contouring' where they sort of shave the tooth to suit the shape you want. Thats a much more minor technique. Be prepared to travel for a good dentist who can do this stuff, find out who specialises in it. And look for discounts and so on.

In the US insurance won't pay for either. (And I have super good insurance.) Bonding is basically skimming a coat of material over the surface of your teeth like plaster; veneers are like stick-on nails. Your tooth surfaces get ground down and roughed up, so you have to have veneers forever after that OR have them ground down to nubs and get crowns. My dentist quoted me my four top front teeth last year, veneers, at $800-1200 per TOOTH. I don't want them after reading about what I can't do after getting them: no crunchy food, no sticky food, no hard biting, no nail or cuticle biting. They'll pop off like, well, press-on nails.

Agree with veneer problems. Only movie stars with $$$$ can afford upkeep on veneers. Get your teeth straightened , and whitened first. Just be sure to tell dentist you don't want them so white that they look fake. You can always go back to have extra whitening done, but if overdone the first time, there is NOTHING they can do to fix it. Bonding stains, and they grind the tooth down, so that you will have to have it bonded again. If your smile is now pretty good, don't do either veneers or bonding. You don't need a movie star smile to be good looking.
