Help! gaps in between my teeth; i won't need braces, i still hate my smile. what to do?
-
okay, i'm going to be a sophomore in high school and i'm interested in modeling, but my not-so-great smile sort of sets me apart from all the other gorgeous girls. i guess i started teething really late as a baby, and i lost my first tooth in third grade, which was really, REALLY late as well. i've had these unnattractive millimeter-or-two wide gaps between my front top teeth since middle school, and i had considered braces as an option until i finally went to the orthodontist about six months ago. he told me that i still had 8 of my baby teeth to lose, and that my full-grown teeth were just about ready to come in, i just had to wait until the rest of my baby teeth came out. But when he checked the allignment of my teeth on the x-ray, he said that when the adult teeth come in, they would close the gaps between my front teeth and it's unlikely that i will need braces. that was in november and i haven't lost any of the teeth. i hate my smile, what else do i have to do?

Answer:
I don't know. Did the dentist say when your baby teeth should fall out? how long will it take? u should ask him. ask him if there is something you can do in the meantime. good luck. Sorry i'm not much help.

you have to wait for your adult teeth to grow in. Youre lucky they are coming in so late...they will last you much longer than since they wont even have any wear yet. Count your blessing. Wish mine came in late.
Questions
For some people having baby teeth at your age is normal however at some point they will fall out. What you can do in the mean time is go to your general dentist or find a cosmetic dentist and have your baby teeth bonded (Bonding is when they will add tooth color fillings to the sides of your baby teeth to make them look bigger to fill in the gaps) However I would still seek the opinion of another orthodontist because your adult teeth may be or become impacted and when you loose your baby teeth you may need to have the adult teeth surgically exposed or in other words pulled down. Sometimes an orthodontist may have the baby teeth extracted in order for the adult teeth to come in. Good Luck
