Is it worth it becoming a dental assistant?

Thinking of becoming a Dental Assistant?

• I was thinking of persuing a career as a dental assistant and would like to know where are some local colleges in Mississippi that offer this program. Also if anyone who has experience in this job, I was wondering if you like it?

  I am an assistant in colorado. I personally love what I do and make a good living doing it. I think the biggest thing to know is that the pay usually starts low but much potential for raises. Specialty practices like oral surgery and periodontics pay very well. The biggest problem is that there usually aren't good benefits. My experience has been that if you can find a good dr to work for its a great career but there are a lot of drs that are not so fun to work for and make life suck! Overall I really like it and can't imagine doing anything else......just find a nice dr. To work for =)
