Is peanut butter healthy or not?

Is SMUCKERS peanut butter healthy or makes you fat?

  • i heard from many different people different things and i love peanut butter. I recently brought the Smuckers NATRUAL peanut butter with the healthy oil on top where you have to stir it in. I heard that it only contains monosaturated and polysaturated fat which is the GOOD kind of fat and doesn't make you fat. Is that true or does it make you gain weight like any other peanut butter?

    those are good fats, and peanut butter is a healthy fat such as avocado, grains, milk, almonds etc.. peanut butter is also packed w/protein so it will help u fuel up!! enjoy it with apples, fruit, bread, toasts,celery,milk, french rolls, omelets, eggs etc! its good! so dont worry

That's true, yes :) People in studies who eat healthy fats (like those from nuts or fish) ended up losing more weight than those who didn't, as these "good" fats help to combat fat in our bodies. I think as far as it being natural is a bonus as well, because in the regular peanut butters there have been palm oils added, which are saturated fat (the bad kind!) in order to keep it from seperating. Be careful, though, as peanut butter is calorie dense if you eat too much it will still cause weight gain just like anything else ;)
