How To Bake Chicken?

How do you properly bake chicken breasts?

  • I am a rookie so bear with me. After googling this, I learned to bake the breasts ins a preheated oven at 375 for approximately 45 minutes. I have finally got chicken breasts defrosted after a day and a half. I will bake 6 of them because I hear you can't keep thawed chicken in the fridge. I will marinade them with italian dressing, add some garlic herb, salt and pepper. Am I doing something wrong or should I do something extra? Any advice and instructions is welcome.

    you are doing it right. there are so many ways to cook them. you can BBQ them too or cook them with Cream of Chicken soup u add a can of water to the cream of chicken soup then pour over the chicken and cook it

CHICKEN, BASIL, PARSLEY, AND TOMATOES : * 1 tablespoon dried parsley, divided * 1 tablespoon dried basil, divided * 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves * 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced * 1/2 teaspoon salt * 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes * 2 tomatoes, sliced * DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. 2. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon parsley and 1 teaspoon basil evenly over the bottom of the baking dish. Arrange chicken breast halves in the dish, and sprinkle evenly with garlic slices. In a small bowl, mix the remaining 2 teaspoons parsley, remaining 2 teaspoons basil, salt, and red pepper; sprinkle over the chicken. Top with tomato slices. 3. Bake covered in the preheated oven 25 minutes. Remove cover, and continue baking 15 minutes, or until chicken juices run clear.

OMG.. if you cook a chicken breast for 45 minutes @3750F it will be as tough and dried out as shoe leather. A chicken breast takes about 30 minutes at 350F. IT doesn't matter how many you cook, the time and temperature doesn't change. And I don't know where you heard that you can't keep thawed chicken in the fridge... That's the ONLY place you can keep thawed chicken. (Did you not notice that it was raw, in a refrigerated cooler at the store when you bought it???????)

I would agree with sheloves above.... 45 minutes is way too long for 375 and chicken breasts (unless they're covered or buried in other ingredients, etc). But just how long it can be kept there will depend on how long *before it was frozen* it had been in the "danger zone" of temperatures (40 F to 140 F) from the time it was processed. That sounds right to me, but just check them at around 35 minutes to see if they are cooking properly.
