How to make cupcake popcorn?

  • I was recently at Sam's club & there was a sample station of 'cupcake popcorn & kettle corn'. It was a cluster of popcorn with some kind of frosting coating & sprinkles. Ive been beating myself up over not buying it. I want to find a recipe on how to make this. help?

    What you will Need: Cupcakes (That is a given) White or Vanilla Frosting Mini Marshmallows Yellow Food Coloring Gel Paint Brush Scissors Cupcake liners Popcorn Cups or Containers Bake your Cupcakes, while doing that you can prep your Marshmallows - Take your scissors and cut a criss-cross half way down on them so they pop open like a kernel of popcorn would. Set aside. When your Cupcakes are cooled off give them a layer of frosting. (you may want to stick them in your Popcorn Bag or Cup at this point before continuing) Then place your mini Marshmallows on top covering the top of the cupcake. Then take your Yellow Food Coloring Gel and get some on your paint brush and lightly color the tops of some of your mini Marshmallows to give the look of butter being on them.

Wrap the band around the cupcake and secure with tape.
