What DJ setup should I buy for a beginner?

  • I want to begin DJing and I want to know whats the best setup I could buy, keeping in mind quality, price, etc. Doesn't have to be cheap but I was wondering what should I buy. Cuz I dont think alot of beginner DJs start out using Technics. What setup should I get for starters? and I'm going to use my laptop as a source of music if that helps

    Hi John Technics ( turntable ) factory has closed... Sales of vinyl are down.. Personally, I prefer hands on feel of real turntables. Traktor scratch / Pro or Serato, use time coded vinyl recorords to control MP3's or WAv files directly from your laptop using a sound card linked to a mixer. I could not afford Technics SL1210's... I purchased Pioneer DDJ T1 / it's a controller / mixer & ships with Traktor DJ software. Nice system, feels like decks..? Not quite the same thing, however, portable, lighter than a box of 100 records & some niffty effects & looping possiblities! Good luck in your search :)
