What is the name and artist of this song?

I need help with finding the name and artist of a song. The singer is a chick. The song sounds like rock/alternative and it starts off slow with the girl singing. I got some of the lyrics of what I could make of it. The song was playing in a trailer (The Vampire Diaries), but I couldn't hear much of the lyrics because of the talking. They might not be the correct lyrics though.
