Is there a difference between a casting call and an audition?

Richmond, VA Disney open call: Did I get a callback?

• I attended a Disney Open Casting Call in Richmond, Virginia. To my understanding, when you got a callback, you received a small white slip of paper. I went in a room with about 8 other girls, and the casting director asked each of us to read from a small monologue. When everyone was finished, the casting director told us he would be calling a few of us back. Here's the confusing part: none of us received the paper! He told us that if we got a callback, we would receive a call from Disney in a few weeks. I'm a 15 year old girl, with a very experienced resume. The casting director also acted very interested in me. When the audition was over, the 8 of us and the casting director left the audition room and went into the hallway to meet with our parents. I continued to watch the casting director and I noticed that he kept looking at me and my resume. It's been 5 days since the audition. Should I keep waiting by the phone?

  Hi, Usually casting directors take 1-2 weeks before actually calling actors for a call-back. If you don't get a call within those days, you should probably move on to another audition. If it helps, here's a website that's been around since 1995, established by fashion model Hilary Rowland that provides free actor portfolios. Once you sign up for a portfolio, you can apply to casting calls (some of them for Disney). It's the very first site to ever provide online actor and model portfolio so Casting Directors trust it. I actually Googled this one and read positive reviews.
