Whats best guitar pedal to get for metal?

  • ive been playing guitar for 1 year now, and im intrested in getting a guitar pedal, but i want one for distortion and overdrive so i was thinking the Boss mt 2 pedal, would that be the best choice or ?

    I've grown out of the metal stage but at the time I was using the metal zone pedal and it gives you a very thrashy heavily distorted old metallica kind of sound. Pretty good pedal my good man.

I actually have that pedal and it does have a good metal sound and helps a lot with pinch harmonics but it isn't very versatile. I feel like it sounds the same no matter how I set the distortion. A good sound, just a one trick pony. Almost all guitar stores have a pedal board station you can go try them out. Bring your guitar, check it in at the front and then plug in and see what sounds good to you.
