What kind of pieces should you be playing?

Playing drums for 6 years but i need money to get a better set!?

• Been playing drum for about 6 years and im in a band playing gigs very frequently, and as of now recording an EP. Im lucky enough to use a really nice set to record, but i can never seem to get enough money to buy legit drums for myself to use anytime i play. Some of the pieces like my snare are still from my beginners set and it sounds BAD!!! sometimes i can borrow a snare or something but i want something that's mine that's good. And i always see on youtube and what not of these reallllllyyyy nice sets like 10 maple pdp toms and 15 odd sabian cymbals with audex, condencer, 57's mics and i dont have that kind of money. but those ppl are mostly grown up, have a job, or their dad plays drums or something. Does anyone have tips to either A.make money to get good equipment or B.make bad equipment sound good????
