How do I get events (concerts, comedy etc) pre-release tickets, or find out when upcoming release dates are?

The main ticket sites (ticketmaster, aloud etc) don't seem to publish when tickets are being put on sale. Are there any sources that would be easier than signing up to all the musicians/comedians' fan clubs individually? Any help much appreciated, thanks!
