What's the deal with 3d?

Whats it like watching a movie in 3D?

  • I've never seen one. Well, I might have? My gradma has a 3D tv and when I turned on the 3D and put on the glasses i literally dont really notice anything different. It was just like watching a movie with sunglasses on to me so big deal I thought and what a waste of money. Was there something wrong with the Tv or was I doing something wrong or is 3D not all its craked up to be? You might say the 3D was never on. Well, the TV did get blurry requiring you to put the glasses on to see clearly but once I put the glasses on it was just like watching normal tv but with sunglasses on

  • Answer:

It's basically like the picture is layered. Except when things are popping out at you. It's quite clever but I much prefer normal. And its waayyy more expensive at the cinema :) Cooper,

It's a pretty under-whelming experience. 3D films are highly over-rated because the effect is barely noticeable most of the time, and when I do notice it I become distracted from the story. It does NOT make you feel like you're in the movie, and of all the 3D films I've seen I can only recall 2 instances where it seemed like something was coming towards me. I don't know if you ever had a ViewMaster as a kid (the little camera you look through to see 3D slides of dinosaurs or cartoons) but it looks kind of like that. The movie just has layers, as if the people are moving cut-outs placed on top of each other. It doesn't look natural and it certainly isn't worth paying double the price to see. 3D TVs have a sharper picture than what you see at the theater, but the screen is smaller so you're even less likely to feel pulled into the film. You're not missing much.

Its like your in the movie. I always catch myself trying to grab the things that pop out at me. :)

It gave me a headache.
