Why does my phone freeze when I text or save a setting?

I have a Motorola L71 and I've never dropped it or have gotten it wet. I was in the middle of a text when it froze and now I can't send texts, store phone numbers, or save settings. I took it in and they said they didn't know what was wrong with it and to "flash it" so I did and my phone still doesn't work! It freezes soon as I push the "Ok" button.
