Will the recession make college tuition costs go down?

Please help me choose the right college penn state or local college?!!!?

• hi, my name is nicole, I am a senior in high school. as we all know, by May 1st, we have to make the final decision about college. I have really a hard time in choosing a college, (I am going for electrical engineering) My choices narrowed down between Penn State University park and a local college they both have the program I am going for, of course penn state is more well-known one, It costs around 40,000 a year, since I am from new york state, I have to pay the ou-tstate fee and I am also from a low income family, so for most of my tuition, I have to take a loan. Honestly, penn state is my ideal college, but the main reason I want to go there is because of the "title", and I also believe that a good college does give better opportunities in the future. My 2nd choice is a local school, which costs about 12,000 a year. It is a lot more cheaper than Penn State I know, and a lot of people from my high school go there. therefore, if I go there I will have friends I already know, but if I go to penn state, I will by my own. I could not make the decision, do you guys have any suggest to help me out???? thank you !!

  i would just go local. even though penn state is the most amazing school in America (lol, im probably biased) but in the long run you have to realize that its better for you to have as little debt as possible. I went to penn state for two years then transferred to a little private school that i dont have to pay tuition for. and even though i miss penn state, its so much easier to not have debt going in to grad school. like i have money for an apartment and dont have to go back home living with my parents like i would have had to if i stayed at penn state. college is only 4 years! look at the future.
