What does it take to skip a grade in school?

How can I skip a grade? Is it a good idea?

  • I'm currently in 8th grade, but I want to skip to 9th. Can I skip after the year has already started? If so, what steps do I take to make it possible? I'm not very challenged in my classes. My grades were all A's last semester. Most were high A's, with the exception of two classes that were at A-. Is that good enough to advance? Most my friends have moved on to high school and think I'm capable of doing 9th grade work. Do you think it would be a mistake? I don't want to screw up my grades because 9th grade is too hard, but I don't think it would be much different from what I'm learning in 8th grade. Thanks for reading.

  • Answer:

I don't recommend that you skip grade 8. And no school would let you do that. If you're not challenged in your classes talk you your teacher about it. Maybe ask your teacher if you can do more work. And if you really want to learn grade 9 you can search up grade 9 materials in Google.
