What should I add to my class secretary speech?

• I am running for class secretary and I would like a few suggestions on what to add to my essay. I like it but it seems a little short. Here it is: Hi, my name is Amanda and I am running for freshman class secretary. A lot of you know me from having class together and know that I am a hard worker and I stay focused when I’m working. I’m like that not only in class but, in everything I do. This means that if I become the class secretary I will take it seriously and not think of it as some optional little thing I can go to only when I feel like it. I’m running for this position because I think it would be not only a fun experience, but an educational one as well. I would like to become more involved in our school and I think this would be one of the best ways to do so. If you vote for me I will listen to your ideas while still contributing my own. I will always try to do what I can to help make this school year the most enjoyable it can be. So if you vote for me I promise I won’t let you down! So what do you think? Is it good? What could I add to it to make it better? Thanks!

What could I add to it to make it better? Thanks! 1- Make it fun and get their attention 2- Tell them all the benefits of voting for you. For example: a- add sprite to the drinking fountains b- the cheerleaders will wear shorter skirts c- we will have more respect for all students not just the popular ones d- we will have three concerts this year with Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and the Beatles look alikes. It will obviously take some real thought to what benefits you can actually offer. Look, most politicians make promises to get elected and they don't always deliver. Tell them what you think you can do. 3- Keep it as simple as possible and smile.
