What is an acute pharmacist?

What is a pharmacist's life like?

  • I'm a freshman in high school right now, and I am considering about studying to become a pharmacist in college. From my parents and from my peers, they say that pharmacists live an unhappy life because of the stressful tasks they must complete. Is this true? And if you are a pharmacist, would you recommend this career to the future generation? What are the pros and cons? Please only answer if you are a pharmacist or if you know someone who is a pharmacist.

  • Answer:

Well uh, from what I see in my local pharmacy, they just talk to each other and fill out prescriptions in an air conditioned cubicle with a hole for transactions. Not a lot of stress that i can perceive. Maybe stress to complete their course, but I don't know... Unless you're going to be MAKING the drugs, in which case that'll be a hell of a hard job.

My good friend's parents are pharmacists. I personally don't think this causes an "unhappy lifestyle". Just do what you want to do, don't listen to your family's opinions on your job. You're the one who has to wake up every morning, and go to your job. So make sure it's what you like & something you can see yourself doing in the future. Have a great day.
