Genetics - I'm not fully convinced by the genetics argument for IQ, which is basically that IQ is innate and coded for in your genes along with eye colour and the like. Therefore, someone with a high IQ is likely to be in their early 20s, enjoys soduku/jigsaws and has parents with high IQs. Someone with a low IQ may be very young or very old, maybe doesn't read for enjoyment or is using recreational drugs too much and has parents with a low IQ.
