What's the environment like in Italy in general?

Whats the relationship between age, environment, genetics, and IQ?

  • explain the relationship between age, environment, genetics, and IQ

  • Answer:

IQ is a standardised measure of intelligence. Age - a young child would not comprehend some of the questions on an IQ test and an old person may not have the memory skills. IQ should drop off at the start and end of life, therefore. Environment - someone who takes IQ tests for fun will score more highly than someone who has never encountered one. Someone who is encouraged to do problem-solving puzzles is likely to be better at an IQ test than someone who is encouraged to give up at the first hurdle. Genetics - I'm not fully convinced by the genetics argument for IQ, which is basically that IQ is innate and coded for in your genes along with eye colour and the like. Therefore, someone with a high IQ is likely to be in their early 20s, enjoys soduku/jigsaws and has parents with high IQs. Someone with a low IQ may be very young or very old, maybe doesn't read for enjoyment or is using recreational drugs too much and has parents with a low IQ.
