How much is the tuition for La Petite Academy?

Music Institute in Hollywood or LA Music Academy?

• Is Music Institute a good school to attend? I love drumming and I have been looking into music schools for a bit. I had been accepted and given a scholarship to California College of Music, but since the school is not accredited I can not get a student loan to help me pay the rest of the tuition. I want to know if MI or LA Music Academy are good schools to attend and not a waste of money. Thank you for your help.

  In 1997, I was an L.A. drummer debating between the two schools as well. I was getting recommendations to check out LA Music Academy which was a very new school at the time. I had found out Ralph Humphrey and Joe Porcaro were no longer at MI but were the ones running the drum department at LAMA and are still there today. Why would they leave MI to head a department at a brand new school? I was intrigued and they were onto something. The vibe/campus/personal attention at LAMA and the very diverse student body which has a lot of international students sealed the deal for me. Really I think the best thing to do is go take a tour of both and I think once you spend a little time at LAMA, you won't be disappointed.
