How To Draw Disney Characters?

Where is a good place to take cartooning classes?

  • I like to draw cartoon characters (sort of disney style stuff) but my work could certainly use some polishing. I'm 14 and i was thinking about looking into some cartooning classes or workshops this summer. What would be some good places to look? Do art school ever hold classes for stuff like that and if yes how much would they cost? If you don't think art schools hold classes like that, what do you suggest?

  • Answer:

Yes, there are an increasing number of workshops and classes, you really need to research what's available in your area. The website in the link below seems to bring together all the resources for cartooning in the UK. It seems an increasing number of cartoonists who can't live just by selling their own work are looking for opportunities to run workshops and classes, they do them in schools and libraries and various community and arts centres that run holiday workshops or classes for young people, so one way to find out what is going on is to look at the websites of the people who are advertising as teaching cartooning and they will have news about if they are doing anything in your area. At art colleges cartooning generally comes under illustration, again do some research, but have a look at the website anyway because there's masses of interesting stuff on it.
