How can one obtain a G.E.D?

Can one obtain a GED before graduating from high school, but still continue on to graduate from high school?

  • I want to take a few technical classes at a community college next summer to make myself more competitive in the job market in the near future. I have examined to admissions requirements and in order to enroll one must first have either obtained a HS diploma or a GED. I know that I am going to graduate from high school in the normally allotted time frame but want to get a job during the summers until then, and doubt anyone will hire me without any form of training or experience.

You should try looking for more alternatives rather than sticking with the community college. It's funny because the community college where I live actually lets you take college courses without a diploma or GED. Anyways, a secondary school- New Market- lets you do the same thing you're doing but it takes up half of your school day, assuming that it's in your state. Otherwise just take your time- don't waste it on getting a GED just so you can be one of those guys who gets a good job at an early age. With the nations economy being pretty messed up at this point I kind of doubt you'll find anything good anyways.
