How to petition at school?

How can I petition a new school rule?

  • my school recently came up with a new rule dealing with the times we (the students) have to shift between different classes, and visit our lockers. the time it was previously, was three minutes, which was just enough time in most cases and for most students.. when school started this year, they cut the time down to two minutes, and no one can get to where there going, and go to their locker (especially after lunch) in the two minute time period. the hallways are often crowded, and a lot of lockers can be hard to open sometimes, so none of the students can understand how they expect us to get from class to class without being tardy. if we are tardy, we get one warning. if the tardiness continues, we get 'written up'. I, for one, think this new rule is ridiculous. many of my classmates think the same, and are often late themselves. today was the first day of school, so of course everyone was being late, and figuring out classes. I am NOT thinking of writing this petition now, because for all I know, people might stop having a problem with the times. however, if they still do in about a week, I plan on constructing a petition. I would like to know if my cause is a good one, and how I can make a petition to send to my public school office.

  • Answer:

Get a paper and have people sign it and give a reason why they don't like the rule once you have a good number of people sign it give it to the PTA or principal
