WHAT ARE THE STEPS IN BECOMING A NEONATAL NURSE PRACTITIONER?

Questions on becoming a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)?

I'm a sophomore in high school and I am very interested in becoming a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP). I love working with infants and kids and I believe this career choice would be a good one for me. I plan on going to the University of Arizona and get all of my undergraduate studies out of the way and do my premed studies there. Then after all that I would like to know if it is possible to then go to California and do my Major studies there to become a NNP. I eventually want to live in San Clemente California. So what do NNP make yearly in that area of California. Also what schooling is required to become a NNP. I would also like to make in the 6 digit numbers. thanks! :)

First of all premed is for doctors, not nurses.You don't need an undergrad degree, just the prerequisites for nursing school.If you want to be an NP you must first get your BSN(4 year nursing degree) and at least 2 years of nursing experience before you can apply to the NP Masters program which is 3 years.
