I want to start my life over in the Anaheim California area?
-
I live in Utah and recently had a falling out with some former roomates for various reasons and I just beed to get away from that and other personal drama. Anyways I just got back from visiting my parents and siblings in Arizona and parents had been hinting that they had a surprise for us when I got there, and lo and behold it was a trip to Disneyland (my Dad is a bit of a disney nut so we tend to go every few years). Anyways everytime we come here I always enjoy the Anaheim area. People here are so nice and friendly and I know its partially because of Disneys influence there but part of it I think is the laid back California attitude which I love. Anyways while I was in Anaheim I often would go out walking at night just exploring the area and quite enjoyed it. I also really enjoyed the weather there and being able to go swimming outside in 70 degree weather (I love the water lol). I do like the cold seasons in Utah but I also really liked Anaheims weather. So heres my question. Would it be possible for a 20 year old to be able to come from outside California and be able to make it? I work at a Walmart here in Utah and could transfer to one out there in a few months if theres an opening at a Walmart store out there. I am completely self sufficient, pay my own rent, cell phone bill, ect and have my own health insurance policy through work as my parents insurance wont cover me. I have a year of general education credits from a community college and was starting classes again but I had to withdraw for health reasons. What about community colleges in the area? When I go back I would like to start out at a community college starting by only taking only one or two classes and work my way back up to being a full time student. Also what about the public transportation system out there? Is it reliable and dependable? I like being able to use public transportation as its usually cheaper than owning a car with the upkeep. Also for renting a room what would be the rent range?

Answer:
I live in northern cali and let me tell you this I KNOW MANY PEOPLE that came from other states to start a new life in cali and are doin pretty good. Southern cali is expensive however anaheim is in riverside which is a bit on the poor side and there is lots of crimes there. rents down in socal is about 400 for a room to 800-1600 for apartment, again remember aneheim is pretty ghetto. I prefer other areas but the rent is ski high. jobs and transportation and all that other crap is just fantastic here. I luv bay area and I will never move out of cali.

Totally do it! I can just tell you know you'll love it out there! I am from Utah and just slowly and progressively started disliking it here. Too many people for such a small area. If they're turning this place into cali I might as well move there. My husband and I are yorn between moving to the sticks in Idaho or the anaheim area. They are both really different but I know we'll be happier in either place. Go for it!! What do you have to lose! There is nothing but opportunities for someone who has a good head on their shoulders, just like you! Best of luck out there!
You could also surprise your dad and get a job at Disneyland..
