Answer:
Choose the community college closest to your home, or the one that offers a program you are interested in - there is no best. If you look at transfer rates to UCLA, which doesn't have guaranteed transfer admissions (TAG) from CA CCs like many of the other UCs, you'll see that the CA average of successful transfers to UCLA is 30%, and that no CC with a significant number of transfers has a much higher percentage. While some brag about the number of transfers, that's not the same as the percentage of successful transfers, which is the important number. You didn't say what area you live in, so I can't comment on metro routes etc. Some CCs may not be accepting applications yet for Fall, but check, because the dates differ and the earlier you apply, the better your class priority registration date. Here is a list of CCs by area, go over the whole list so you don't miss don't miss anything. (Like Glendale and Pasadena aren't listed with LA CCs, but they might be convenient to you.) CC Listings: http://californiacommunitycolleges.cccco.edu/maps/districts.asp Search by address, etc: http://californiacommunitycolleges.cccco.edu/maps/map.asp?address=City%2C+Zip+or+Address&major=By+Academic+Program&area=% Look on the CC website under Admissions, and look at the Calendar. Good luck!
