Good piano lesson books?

Piano lesson books for a 4th year student?

  • When I was in elementary school I took three straight years of piano and was tested at the end of each and received a superior rating for all three, but then I quit. Now I'm looking to get back into it and pick up where I left off, or now that I'm older, do I pick up exactly where I left off? I don't have any of my old books, but I remember at the beginning of each year my teacher would make me get a theory book, lesson book, and some recital pieces to correspond to them. Any suggestions as to what books I should get now? Or is there not enough information to help me?

  • Answer:

Try going to a music store. Chances are the worker there has some knowledge of music and the books they carry. They can help you figure out your level and what books will be good for you. If you do get books and feel overwhelmed, the internet has countless resources for music theory. Just google what you are having problems with and you will be sure to find help.
