  I don't know much about the online high school (only available in certain states though) Connections Academy, but it's apparently tuition-free (most likely minus the cost of books and such). The website does end in a ".com" which usually means a for-profit business or institution so I'm not sure how that works with this school. I suppose that whichever school that you're considering should be accredited or backed by the 'department of education' and regionally accredited (as opposed to 'nationally' accredited) before enrolling.
