When transferring out of state is it better to transfer from a university?

• to another university out of state or is a community college transfer ok. i am currently at a community college and want to transfer to a university out of state because the university here is only really good for the medical field and im going in business admin with a focus on finance i just wanted to know if it really makes a difference if a transfer from a community college or a university i have really good grades and some community service

  Deb is absolutely right, but did not explain to you how to find out if your credits will transfer. Transfer of credit can be tricky, particularly between different states. You will need to contact someone in the admissions office of the university to which you wish to transfer. Ask that person to give you the name of someone who can help you find out which of your credits will transfer, and which ones won't. They will want a copy of your community college transcript in order to make that decision, and it might take some time to determine which courses you have taken which are equivalent to theirs. Once they have decided that, you will know where you stand. You probably will have to take courses over again because usually not everything transfers. But you also probably will not have to start as a freshman. Some of what you have done will count, but there is no way to know how much until you let the admissions department at the university evaluate your transcript.
