How to get from Penn State to Cornell?

Can I get into Penn State University Park with a 2.5 gpa? Please read detail, complicated?

• I am going into my Junior year at c.w post Fall 2010 and have a gpa of 2.5. However last semester spring 2010 I got diagnosed with a DVT and PE so all throughout my spring semester I was in and out of hospitals, doctors, ect. School wasn't a priority, my health was. So my grades dropped from a 3.0 to the 2.5. I wrote this on my resume for school and explained that I plan to bring up my gpa for fall 2010 at c.w post and hope to transfer into Penn State spring 2011. So because of this I am very concerned about what will happen. You need atleast a 2.5 to be considered for University Park. As well as I am taking extra curriculeum activites such as community service at a nursing home, I'm very much into Art and I excel at that. Which is what I'll be majoring in at Penn state, I'll be in the equestrian club and competiting while at c.w post, and joining a couple of other clubs/orginizations at c.w post. I have a part time job, and also I am taking a phelebotomy coarse which I'll be certified in by the end of Oct. As you can see I am a very well rounded student. Does anyone have any suggestions?   It will be very difficult with a gpa of 2.5. Penn State UP is a great place and pretty difficult to get into. Unfortunately for your application, Penn State UP places 2/3 of their admission decision on the gpa. You are well into the bottom 25th percentile with a 2.5 gpa. The 25-75% gpa range for accepted Penn State University Park applicants is a 3.52 - 3.97. I hope you still decide to apply, as they may give consideration to your situation. Also, make sure to apply as early as possible, as the admission is rolling. It gets more difficult the longer you wait, as the class fills quickly. Best of luck.
