Applying to a Canadian college?

Do all high school credit requirements for college have to be met before applying to the college?

  • Right now I am finishing my junior year of high school. The college I want to go to requires 4 high school math credits, but so far I only have 3 because I will be taking the fourth math class in my senior year. But I will be applying to the college this fall so I will only have the 3 math credits on the transcript I send to the college. Do I need to have all the requirements before I apply or can I still be accepted to the college with only 3 math credits?

  • Answer:

No you do not have to wait. All juniors are in the same position. Just write "in process" if you are in school or "pending" if you will take it when you get back. Colleges understand this.

You can apply without having all the credits yet, but if you fail to attain the required credits you won't graduate, and will therefore be ineligible for college. So don't slack of senior year, and good luck with those applications!

No but you won't be accepted to start there if there are any not met. You can still apply and get things rolling and let them know what you are doing still to finish the credits. That always helps.

Yes, as long as you are already enrolled in that math course. In Canada that's how it works anyways...
